The plate setter now called the convEGGtor can be used with the flat side up or with the legs inverted. In the inverted position, the large cooking grid fits snugly on the legs. It acts to provide additional ceramic mass as well as shield the food from direct heat.

The design of the convEGGtor, in conjunction with the thermal properties of the Egg, allows heat to efficiently radiate within the dome while preventing the flames and heat from over-cooking the food.
